Basketball Game Preview: North Florida Christian Eagles vs. Godby Cougars

The North Florida Christian Eagles will challenge the Godby Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Florida Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season.

North Florida Christian is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest defeat since November 20, 2023 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Maclay by a score of 51-49. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Marauders recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jed Dickens, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last six times he's played. Jace Riggan was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine assists.

Meanwhile, Godby humbled Rutherford with a 63-30 victory. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 22 points or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Godby and bumps their season record up to 14-5. As for North Florida Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

North Florida Christian suffered a grim 58-36 defeat to Godby in their previous matchup back in January of 2021. Thankfully for North Florida Christian, Stephen Laurent (who posted 17 points and seven boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
