Baseball Recap: Johnson Governors vs. Nova Classical Academy Knights

Johnson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 18-10 to the Nova Classical Academy Knights. Johnson was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Nova Classical Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

For Nova Classical Academy's part, James Williams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Williams was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

In other batting news, Alex Ehlebracht was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Hafner, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Johnson's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Nova Classical Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

Johnson will head out on the road to challenge Washington Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Nova Classical Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Legacy Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. Nova Classical Academy is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
