Softball Recap: Walnut Mustangs vs. Glendora Tartans
Walnut extended their losing streak to 12 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 3-21 in the process. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Glendora Tartans. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Tartans this season, with their most recent defeat being a 8-4 loss back in April.
Walnut saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cynthia P, who went 2-for-3 with one triple. That triple was P's first of the season. Teri W was another, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
As for Glendora, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.
On Glendora's side, Morgan Gonzalez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Gonzalez has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Torres, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.
As of now, neither Walnut nor Glendora have any future games scheduled.
