Basketball Recap: Putnam County Piles Up the Points Against Southwest Atlanta Christian

Putnam County came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.6 points), and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 95-60 victory over the Southwest Atlanta Christian Warriors. Given the War Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Warriors are ranked 386th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jmari Greene continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 34 points and ten boards. He has been hot, having posted 17 or more points the last six times he's played. Jaylin Harper was another key player, dropping a double-double with 18 points and ten assists.

Putnam County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 24 consecutive matches.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jabari Burleson, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 20 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Wiggins, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 14 boards.

Putnam County's win bumped their record up to 24-1. As for Southwest Atlanta Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 9-19.

Putnam County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 100-94 victory against Towers on the 13th. Southwest Atlanta Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
