Basketball Recap: Maple Lake Takes a Loss

Maple Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 66-51 fall against the Eden Valley-Watkins Eagles. The Irish were probably out for revenge after losing 59-54 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Maple Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Eden Valley-Watkins, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

Maple Lake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-65 loss against PACT Charter on the 10th. As for Eden Valley-Watkins, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Eden Valley-Watkins Eagles challenge the Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Eden Valley-Watkins likes a good challenge.
