Basketball Recap: Breese Central Extends Home Winning Streak to 16

Breese Central had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Everything went their way against the Salem Wildcats as they made off with a 48-27 win. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Wildcats are ranked 502nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Breese Central's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-4. As for Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.
