Basketball Game Preview: Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs vs. Valley Indians

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs will challenge the Valley Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Lynchburg-Clay didn't have too much trouble with Peebles as they won 42-26. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won five in a row.

Lynchburg-Clay relied on the efforts of Adilyn Carraher, who went 5 of 9 to rack up 13 points, and Lily Ferguson, who posted ten points and five steals. What's more, Carraher also racked up four rebounds, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Joslyn Rockey, who had two points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Valley hadn't done well against Notre Dame recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Valley enjoyed a cozy 49-35 victory over Notre Dame. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Valley now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Lynchburg-Clay, their record now sits at 8-14.
