Preview: Victory Christian Academy Storm vs. Lake Placid Dragons
Victory Christian Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Lake Placid Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Victory Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Victory Christian Academy beat St. Petersburg Catholic 49-43.
It was another big night for Bianca Barroso, who scored 21 points along with nine steals and six assists. The matchup was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Gomez, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lake Placid made easy work of Avon Park on Tuesday and carried off a 20-0 win. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Lake Placid has scored all season.
Victory Christian Academy's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Lake Placid, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Victory Christian Academy came up short against Lake Placid when the teams last played back in January, falling 32-26. Can Victory Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
