The Benjamin Russell Wildcats came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Chilton County 58-42. Given Benjamin Russell's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Chilton County is ranked 306th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chilton County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was DJ Caffey, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
