Basketball Game Preview: Clayton Comets vs. Harnett Central Trojans + Official Tickets

The Clayton Comets will face off against the Harnett Central Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Clayton's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Harnett Central has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

On Tuesday, Clayton beat East Wake 49-39.

Meanwhile, Harnett Central scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 89-69 to Fuquay - Varina. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (60), the Trojans still had to take the loss.

Clayton will have to contain Rylan Beasley as he made an impact in Harnett Central's last game. He shot 82% from the field en route to 21 points and six rebounds. Beasley continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was King Murdock, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 15 points and five boards.

Harnett Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Clayton, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Everything came up roses for Clayton against Harnett Central in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, as the team secured an 84-57 victory. Do the Comets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
