Preview: Southeast Lauderdale Tigers vs. Kemper County Wildcats
Southeast Lauderdale and Kemper County are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Southeast Lauderdale Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Kemper County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Southeast Lauderdale is hoping to put an end to a 12-game streak of away losses.
Southeast Lauderdale scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Clarkdale at home to the tune of 66-11. That looming 66-11 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Southeast Lauderdale yet this season.
Meanwhile, Kemper County waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 42-34 victory over Enterprise. Given Kemper County's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Enterprise is ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Southeast Lauderdale's record now sits at 7-12. As for Kemper County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Southeast Lauderdale and Kemper County were neck-and-neck when the teams last played on January 9th, but Southeast Lauderdale came up empty-handed after a 45-44 defeat. Can Southeast Lauderdale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
