Volleyball Recap: South St. Paul Beats St. Anthony Village for Their Third Straight Victory

South St. Paul entered their tilt with St. Anthony Village on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Packers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

South St. Paul never let St. Anthony Village on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-19, 25-22.

South St. Paul found their leader in freshman Abby Ulrick, who had 11 digs and five aces. Aviana Belmares also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

South St. Paul was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in seven consecutive games.

South St. Paul's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for St. Anthony Village, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, South St. Paul will face off against Harding at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Anthony Village, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Academy of Holy Angels at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
