Basketball Recap: Rockwall-Heath Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Rockwall-Heath was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Longview Lobos. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 468th, while the Lobos are ranked 77th).

Longview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maya Ward, who went 7 for 13 on her way to 17 points and three steals. Ward is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bethany Baltes, who posted eight points and five assists.

Rockwall-Heath's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-15. As for Longview, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3.

Rockwall-Heath will challenge Rockwall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Longview, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against North Forney at 6:30 p.m. Longview is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season.
