Softball Game Preview: Taft Wildcats vs. Chavez Titans

The Taft Wildcats will head out to challenge the Chavez Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Taft has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Chavez will arrive with three straight wins.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Taft's offense. They came up short against Monache on Saturday, falling 12-0. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Wildcats, who until this match were averaging 3.7 runs allowed.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chavez). They put the hurt on Delano with a sharp 13-3 victory on Monday.

Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Chavez, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

Everything went Taft's way against Chavez when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Taft made off with a 19-2 victory. Will Taft repeat their success, or does Chavez has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
