Softball Recap: Chicago Academy Comes Up Short

Chicago Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They came up short against the Mather Rangers, falling 10-1. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Chicago Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sariah Arlequin, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Mather, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.7 runs.

On Mather's side, Dahli Sanchez was excellent, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs. Another player making a difference was Enyerlis Serrano Castillo, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Chicago Academy has already played their next game, a 14-13 win against Schurz on the 18th. As for Mather, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-13 defeat against Juarez on the 20th.
