Softball Preview: Largo Packers vs. Mitchell Mustangs

Largo is 0-3 against Mitchell since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Largo Packers will square off against the Mitchell Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Largo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

In what's become a running theme this season, Largo gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They came out on top against Fivay by a score of 15-5 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Paige Sofge made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sofge was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and a triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Miranda Rollins, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last ten games she's played. Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Mitchell's offense. They fell just short of River Ridge by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, Mitchell's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Largo pushed their record up to 9-14 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Mitchell, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.
