Baseball Recap: Seymour Takes a Loss

Seymour and Billings pushed the score to 16-5 the last time they played Billings, but on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Tigers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Seymour's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-7. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.67 runs. As for Billings, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seymour will take on Galena at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Billings, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Wheatland at 5:00 p.m. The Mules' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
