Softball Recap: Herndon Comes Up Short

Herndon lost against Wakefield back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Herndon fell 5-2 to Wakefield. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Katie McGee and Emilia Korsvall stepped up to the plate in a big way. McGee went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Korsvall went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Korsvall launched this season.

Even though they lost, Herndon lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Herndon's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Wakefield, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Herndon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-2 defeat against Wakefield School on the 28th. As for Wakefield, they are taking a road trip to challenge West Springfield at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
