Basketball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Cross County's Winning Streak

If Cross County was feeling good fresh off their 68-38 takedown of Twin River last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cross County Cougars took a 37-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of the David City Scouts on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Scouts are ranked 111th).

When it comes to explaining why Cross County lost, don't look at Lindee Kelley. Despite the final result, she posted eight points along with six rebounds and six steals. Kelley has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Eden Peterson was another key player, putting up nine points.
