Baseball Recap: Lutheran Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lutheran's offense. They fell 3-0 to the Chaparral Wolverines on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Payden Joyce was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Chaparral, their record is now 3-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lutheran will host Green Mountain at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chaparral, they will square off against Liberty at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
