The Clermont Northeastern Rockets will head out on the road to square off against the East Clinton Astros at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Clermont Northeastern is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Blanchester hit Clermont Northeastern with a four-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rockets took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jenna Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and seven unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bella Wilson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one double. Karlee Gamble also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, East Clinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Bethel-Tate.

East Clinton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Clermont Northeastern, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Clermont Northeastern couldn't quite get it done against East Clinton in their previous meeting on April 8th as they fell 4-0. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
