Basketball Recap: Pahrump Valley Comes Up Short

Pahrump Valley lost against Boulder City back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pahrump Valley Trojans were beaten by the Boulder City Eagles 65-31. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-11.

Pahrump Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tramaine Burras, who posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks. Burras has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Cartier Jenkins also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boulder City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sean Pendleton, who had 11 points. Aiden Birch was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Pahrump Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season. As for Boulder City, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Pahrump Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Boulder City, they will face off against Virgin Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Boulder City's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 games.
