Baseball Game Preview: Sonoma Valley Dragons vs. American Canyon Wolves

The Sonoma Valley Dragons will head out to square off against the American Canyon Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sonoma Valley has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight losses, while American Canyon will come in with three straight victories.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Sonoma Valley's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Casa Grande on Thursday.

Meanwhile, American Canyon sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over Napa on Thursday.

The team relied heavily on Royce Hall, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. American Canyon is 3-1 when Hall posts two or more runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Andre Lopez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

American Canyon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matches.

American Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Sonoma Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

Sonoma Valley beat American Canyon 8-5 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
