Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Forest Hills). They were the clear victors by a 23-1 margin over the Monroe Redhawks on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Yellow Jackets as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Lylah Starnes made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Starnes was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Laurieyata Cuthbertson was a standout: she scored three runs and stole six bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Horne, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4.
Forest Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .795. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monroe only posted an OBP of .250.
