Willow Canyon waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Kellis Cougars get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.
Easton Spriggs was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Mataya Olson was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Carly Godbolt also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Willow Canyon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. They are 9-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
