Softball Recap: Luther Prep Wins Going Away Against Lake Country Lutheran

Luther Prep lost to Lake Country Lutheran back in April of 2022, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Phoenix blew past the Lightning 9-3.

Addy Schmidt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Arabella Timm, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kiara Humann, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Luther Prep's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Lake Country Lutheran, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coincidentally, Luther Prep and Lake Country Lutheran will both be playing St. Francis the next time they take the field. The Lightning will head out to face the Mariners at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Phoenix will host them at 4:30 p.m. on the 24th.
