Football Game Preview: Tahoka Bulldogs vs. Plains Cowboys + How To Watch

The Tahoka Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Plains Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tahoka will be strutting in after a victory while Plains will be coming in after a loss.

Tahoka was handed a 30-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They skirted past Seagraves 16-13.

Tahoka relied on the efforts of Dante Garcia, who rushed for 113 yards and a pair of scores, and Uzziah Martinez, who rushed for 83 yards. Garcia also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Bulldogs are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Tahoka was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 224 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, Plains was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against Sundown, falling 35-7.

Tahoka's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.6 points over those games. As for Plains, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for Tahoka against Plains in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 46-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
