Santa Fe Trail faced Burlington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Chargers put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 11-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Sydnee Sleichter made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Sleichter was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kendall Baird and Brooke Neidhardt did most of the damage at the plate: Baird went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Neidhardt went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Baird has posted since back in March. Trinity Fawl was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Santa Fe Trail kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 12-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Santa Fe Trail is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Burlington fell to 8-1.

Santa Fe Trail wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-3 win against Rock Creek on the 24th. As for Burlington, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 15-0 victory against Osawatomie on the 29th.
