Baseball Recap: Northern Lehigh Takes a Loss

Northern Lehigh suffered their closest loss since March 25th on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Southern Lehigh Spartans by a score of 8-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 9-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Connor Simms made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Buskirk, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Northern Lehigh and nudges their season record down to 4-9. As for Southern Lehigh, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Northern Lehigh will challenge Catasauqua at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southern Lehigh, they will square off against Moravian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
