Recap: Vermilion Sailors vs. Brookside Cardinals
The Vermilion Sailors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 69-46 walloping at the hands of Brookside. Vermilion was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-15.
Despite the loss, Vermilion still got an impressive performance from AJ Gerber, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Cooper, who scored five points.
Vermilion dropped their record down to 4-9 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Brookside, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.
Vermilion will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Norwalk at 7:15 p.m. on January 25th. Norwalk presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Vermilion in Ohio (Norwalk is ranked 233rd, while Vermilion is ranked 621st). As for Brookside, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Clearview at 7:00 p.m. Clearview is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
