Basketball Game Preview: Gresham Gophers vs. Nelson

Gresham hasn't had much luck against Nelson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Gresham Gophers will head out to challenge Nelson at 7:30 p.m.

Gresham is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 63 points on Friday, they were much more limited against Clackamas on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Cavaliers, falling 91-13. While losing is never fun, the Gophers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while the Cavaliers are ranked first).

Meanwhile, Nelson waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They managed a 53-47 victory over the Rams.

The win got Nelson back to even at 5-5. As for Gresham, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Gresham took a serious blow against Nelson in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 64-22. Can Gresham avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
