Damien fell victim to Chino Hills and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 1-0. The Spartans' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Andrew Torres was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

Damien's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Chino Hills, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

While Damien had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
