Volleyball Recap: Southeast Takes a Loss

If Southeast was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Ravenna on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates came up short against the Lake Center Christian Tiger on Monday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Tiger: they've now lost seven in a row.

Southeast was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Lake Center Christian work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-24, 25-13.

Leila Evans paced Southeast's offense, picking up 14 kills. Evans got some help from Neena Truex and her 19 assists. Truex was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Southeast's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Lake Center Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.

Southeast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Brookfield on the 30th. As for Lake Center Christian, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Aquinas on the 2nd.
