Basketball Game Preview: Seattle Prep Panthers vs. Bellevue Wolverines

The Seattle Prep Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Bellevue Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seattle Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 25 matches -- so hopefully Bellevue likes a good challenge.

Seattle Prep is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Garfield, who was ranked third at the time (Seattle Prep was ranked 22nd). Seattle Prep strolled past Garfield with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 72-57.

Meanwhile, Bellevue had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.3 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 72-45 win over West Seattle. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 22 points or more this season.

Bellevue's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points over those games. As for Seattle Prep, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.

Things could have been worse for Seattle Prep, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-36 loss to Bellevue when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Seattle Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
