Baseball Recap: Winslow Takes a Loss

Winslow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets, falling 12-1. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Yellow Jackets from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Winslow saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Martinez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Wesley Reid also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Winslow's record now sits at 1-7-1. As for Blue Ridge, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winslow will venture away from home to take on Alchesay at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blue Ridge, they will head out to square off against Show Low at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Show Low will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Blue Ridge surely won't give up without a fight.
