Volleyball Game Preview: Morse Tigers vs. Hoover Cardinals

The Morse Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Hoover Cardinals at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Morse had won four straight home games and Hailee Divina did her part to make it five on Tuesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Logan Memorial Education Campus thanks in part to Divina, who had seven aces and seven assists. She has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last six times she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Morse was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-1, 25-8.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morse to victory, but perhaps none more so than Melkiana Rebolledo, who had five aces.

Meanwhile, Hoover got the win against Kearny on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

While Hoover won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-9, 28-26.

Morse's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Hoover, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.

Morse took their victory against Hoover in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
