Baseball Recap: Kennett Comes Up Short

After flying high against Sun Valley on Monday, Kennett came back down to earth. The Blue Demons fell 10-7 to the East Vikings on Wednesday. The Blue Demons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Alexis Laboy and Ethan Santoro stepped up to the plate in a big way. Laboy went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI, while Santoro went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. That double marked the first that Laboy has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Matthews, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Kennett has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for East, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Coming up, Kennett will venture away from home to take on Malvern Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for East, they will welcome Oxford at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
