Recap: Master's Academy Patriots vs. The Classical Academy of Sarasota Patriots
The Master's Academy Patriots put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past The Classical Academy of Sarasota 74-21 at home. Fans of Master's Academy have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Caleb Cotton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 176 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 218 yards and five touchdowns on only 19 passes. Cotton was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Tedder, who picked up 143 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Master's Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Brayden Rugar and his two sacks.
Master's Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for The Classical Academy of Sarasota, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Master's Academy will head out on the road to face off against Florida School for the Deaf & Blind at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Roud Valcin and Cotton. As for The Classical Academy of Sarasota, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Foundation Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Foundation Christian Academy has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 18th.
