Volleyball Game Preview: Golden Sierra Grizzlies vs. Mesa Verde Mavericks

After both having extra time off, the Golden Sierra Grizzlies and the Mesa Verde Mavericks will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Golden Sierra was able to grind out a solid win over Lindhurst, taking the game 3-1. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Blazers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Golden Sierra got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 35-33, 25-19, 16-25, 25-18.

Austin Cole was nothing short of spectacular: he had 39 assists.

Meanwhile, Mesa Verde made easy work of Lindhurst last Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Mesa Verde walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-12, 26-24.

Mesa Verde has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Golden Sierra, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
