Baseball Game Preview: Pelahatchie Chiefs vs. Raymond Rangers

The Pelahatchie Chiefs are taking a road trip to take on the Raymond Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Pelahatchie and four for Raymond.

Pelahatchie's last matchup with Pisgah could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Tuesday. The Chiefs came up short against the Dragons, falling 8-0.

Meanwhile, Raymond lost 18-1 to Lawrence County on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Rangers have lost by exactly 17 runs.

Raymond saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Jones, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Pelahatchie's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Raymond, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

Pelahatchie took their victory against Raymond when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chiefs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
