Basketball Recap: KK Mcnair's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Port St. Joe over Marianna

Port St. Joe lost against Marianna back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks lost 49-26 to the Marianna Bulldogs. The Tiger Sharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Port St. Joe's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was KK McNair, who posted eight points. Addy Silcox was another key player, putting up eight points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marianna to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dessiah Gee, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 12 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Shonna Mathis, who had 12 points and six rebounds.

Port St. Joe's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Marianna, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Port St. Joe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Arnold on the 11th. As for Marianna, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 44-41 defeat against Graceville on the 12th.
