Baseball Game Preview: Sahuaro Cougars vs. Sabino Sabercats

Sahuaro is on a six-game streak of home losses, and Sabino a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Sahuaro Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sabino Sabercats at 4:00 p.m. Sahuaro has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mica Mountain hit Sahuaro with a ten-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars came up short against the Thunderbolts, falling 14-4.

Adrian Montano was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Perez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.

Sabino played against Ironwood Ridge on Thursday and lost via forfeit.

Sabino's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Sahuaro, their loss dropped their record down to 2-20-1.

Sahuaro couldn't quite finish off Sabino in their previous matchup back in March of 2022 and fell 6-4. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
