Volleyball Recap: Monroe Comes Up Short

Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Saline Hornets, falling 3-0. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Hornets when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Monroe took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-19, 25-20.

Presley Johnson paced Monroe's offense, picking up 11 kills. Johnson got some help from Josslyn Jones and her 22 assists. Aly Lewis and Harley Bray kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 10-19-1. As for Saline, their win bumped their record up to 20-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Monroe will take on Skyline at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Saline, after both having extra time off, they and Pinckney will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
