Softball Recap: Pacifica Starts Season with Win Against Foothill Tech

Pacifica took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They blew past the Foothill Tech Dragons 21-11. The Tritons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Dragons, too.

Denise Gutierrez was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (four). Another player making a difference was Aubrey Colvin, who went 4-for-6 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Pacifica was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .591. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foothill Tech only posted a batting average of .367.

Pacifica has already played their next game, an 11-5 loss against St. Bonaventure on the 21st. As for Foothill Tech, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 14-3 victory against Hueneme on the 25th.
