Baseball Recap: Excel Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Excel Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Christian Academy Warriors.

J Black put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Black was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Tristen Hoskins was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was K Ward, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Excel Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Trinity Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Excel Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Miller Grove at 4:30 p.m. on April 1st. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will welcome Harvest Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
