Basketball Recap: Jordan Takes a Loss

Jordan lost against Spencer back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Jordan Red Jackets were dealt a 63-33 defeat at the hands of the Spencer Greenwave. While losing is never fun, the Red Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 480th, while the Greenwave are ranked 232nd).

It was another big night for Alexandria Berk, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards for Spencer. Berk is becoming a predictor of Spencer's success: when she posts at least ten rebounds the team is 8-2 (and 5-9 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Nadra Rosser, who posted 12 points along with seven boards and five steals.

Jordan has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season. As for Spencer, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jordan will take on Shaw at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Shaw has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Spencer, they will challenge Hardaway at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. Hardaway knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matches -- so hopefully Spencer likes a good challenge.
