Baseball Game Preview: Loris Lions vs. Georgetown Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Loris will face off against Georgetown. The Lions will head out to take on the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Loris is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Loris is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Georgetown just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-3.

Aiden Suggs was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Suggs wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Avery Todd, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Loris' defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Georgetown, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
