Newark Academy and Belleville are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Minutemen will head out to face off against the Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Newark Academy came up short against Gill St. Bernard's on Tuesday, falling 12-1. The Minutemen have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Newark Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Epstein, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Belleville got themselves on the board against Glen Ridge on Tuesday, but Glen Ridge never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Ridgers with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Buccaneers have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Belleville and bumps their season record up to 8-10. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Newark Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Newark Academy took their victory against Belleville in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Minutemen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
