Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Colbert County). They claimed a resounding 72-19 win over the Elkmont Red Devils. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won six in a row.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Colbert County's defense and their six sacks. Frank Hayes was especially locked on to Elkmont's QB and sacked him twice. Despite the loss, Elkmont still got an impressive performance from Cooper Wales, who picked up 135 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Wales really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 71 yards.
Colbert County's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Elkmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.
