Basketball Recap: Auburn Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Auburn fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Fillmore Central on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Fillmore Central Panthers by a score of 58-55.

Daniel Stoner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fillmore Central, dropping a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards. Stoner's big performance that morning made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarin Tweedy, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Auburn's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.3 points. As for Fillmore Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Auburn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fillmore Central, they will face off against Lincoln Lutheran at 9:00 a.m. on March 12th. Lincoln Lutheran will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Fillmore Central surely won't give up without a fight.
